Gold Metal, Baby

Abby competed at the Star of the North games on Saturday, and won FIRST PLACE in her group!  She also placed fourth in the compulsory competition, which we didn't expect at all because she competed at a level up.  She and her coach were both pleasantly surprised and excited about that, too!

She did super. She does great under pressure, and she will tell you the reason she practices is for THAT moment on the ice when she can compete. She loves being out there on the ice stage! Video to come, but here are some pictures.  Towards the end of the post there are pictures and a short video from her figure skating club exhibition they had on Wednesday. Abby did her solo then, too, but I didn't video it. I did video her group performance which is what you can view. So.....blue outfit is from Saturday where she placed first; red outfit is from the figure skating exhibition on Wednesday.

Star of the North Games - St. Paul
Gold Metal!!

In the locker room before skating.  Lots of nervous energy in there :-)

Her routine. She's not up, otherwise I would have her tell me what she's doing so I can tell you. So I'll just guess.......getting ready to do a jump.
 Landing jump :-)

 Spin!

 Catch-foot spiral.
 Backwards spiral.
 Another type of jump.....
 Ending spin.

 First Place!

CFSC Skating Exhibition - Wednesday night

In this video Abby is wearing a black skirt and blue top. She's one of the tallest :-)

Here she is doing her solo skate.
