Summer Lovin'

you know we newmans LOVE summer......and we are so excited that the temps are FINALLY into the 80s.....and it looks like it might stay that way for the upcoming week. fingers crossed July will give us better weather than June did.

we found a new beach / pool to go to today.  the kids loved it b/c there were a couple of slides and a diving board.  then we came home and had a summery dinner....grilled corn on the cob, hot dogs, hamburgers, and turkey cheddar sausage; watermelon; frozen grapes; and chips.

no camps planned for next week, but our calendar has filled up: play dates, beach dates, grocery shopping, figure skating, and fourth of July celebrations. can't wait :-)

Sleeping Beauty Play

Abby's first performance of Sleeping Beauty was last night.  She played one of the henchmen.  She's off to performance number two this morning. Next week we have NOTHING planned. I can't wait :-)  Hopefully the weather will be nice and we can hit the pool or beach and then hit all the 4th of July activities.

Lacrosse & Baseball

Baseball is winding down for the season. Good thing, too, because it is not Griffin's favorite sport.  He had his last game of the season last Wednesday. The end of year tournament starts next week, and then he is finished....perhaps forever :-)

Griff did have a lacrosse camp this week that he LOVED. This may be his spring/summer sport.  Abby has been in theater camp all week, and her play is tonight. She is super excited.  Hannah didn't have anything this week, so she hung with me, running errands and shopping.

Star of the North - Freestyle & Compulsory Videos

Gold Metal, Baby

Abby competed at the Star of the North games on Saturday, and won FIRST PLACE in her group!  She also placed fourth in the compulsory competition, which we didn't expect at all because she competed at a level up.  She and her coach were both pleasantly surprised and excited about that, too!

She did super. She does great under pressure, and she will tell you the reason she practices is for THAT moment on the ice when she can compete. She loves being out there on the ice stage! Video to come, but here are some pictures.  Towards the end of the post there are pictures and a short video from her figure skating club exhibition they had on Wednesday. Abby did her solo then, too, but I didn't video it. I did video her group performance which is what you can view. So.....blue outfit is from Saturday where she placed first; red outfit is from the figure skating exhibition on Wednesday.
