I took the kids downtown to Macys to see the Christmas displays and Santa. Mike met us there, since he works not far from Macys. Thankfully he was with us, because I'm not sure I could have managed all three kids myself. The place was PACKED, and we got there right when it opened. I'm used to seeing the Christmas displays in the windows at Marshall Fields on State Street - this was a bit different. Macys decorates their 8th floor, which was actually a nice change, as we were indoors and didn't have to brave the elements. The theme was The Nutcracker, which is really why we went...Abby is LOVING The Nutcracker story this year. We read it over and over and listen to the music all day. The displays were really cute, and I think Abby like it.
The highlight, of course, was seeing Santa. Abby ran right up to him and gave him a big hug and then jumped on his lap. We weren't intending for Griff and Hannah to get their pictures taken, but then we couldn't fit the stroller through the door to Santa, so we had to get them out....and since they were out, and Santa was right there, well, I plopped them on his lap. Griff just stared at him and tried to grab his beard......Hannah cried :-) .
