Wowza! I am behind in posting the comings and goings around here. Definitely time for an update.
1. Abby passed her figure skating test and is now competing at the Preliminary Level. She will take another test in December and if all goes well she will be at the Juvenile level and will be able to do a small group performance at the skate show in March. She is super excited about that. She is also going to be doing another competition at the beginning on November. She is working on a new routine and is excited that she will be able to skate it at the competition.
5th grade is going well for her. She likes all her teachers and so far hasn't complained about the amount of homework. She is still in band and has that 2 mornings a week. We car pool with three other families on our block, which helps a lot in getting her to school at the crack of dawn for band.
She is no longer in volleyball, as it was conflicting with skating. She is fine with it. She's still doing girl scouts, and this year will be doing many more service type activities.
2. Hannah is making lots of friends in 2nd grade. She is especially close to a little girl named Rubie. They talk to each other on the phone almost every night :-) It's very funny to listen in on their conversations. She was trying a hip hop dance class, but decided she didn't like it. We are still looking for Hannah's "thing". Will let you know when we find it!
3. Griff is also having fun in 2nd grade. He comes home from school very dirty.....they like to play cops and robbers at recess and apparently there is lots of falling down and rolling in the mud.
He is currently in hockey camp, which meets on Saturdays. The season starts mid-October, and he can't wait.
4. We went to TN to visit G&G Meiers back in August. We had a great time and did lots of fun stuff -- swimming, boating, tubing, water skiing, fishing, river tubing and an overnight trip to Nashville to check out the Country Music Hall of Fame and the happenin' city. Below are just a few pictures from all the fun.
I'll try to do better with my updates in the future! Promise!
View from the boat dock.....beautiful!
Abby getting ready to go tubing. She and Griff loved this....Hannah wouldn't even try it.
Fun on the boat.
There they go!
Hannah watching :-)
They loved tipping over, so Grandpa tried very hard to make it happen often!
Mike water skiing......
Abby getting ready to try skiing. She got up once for a few seconds.
One of the neighbors had fish in an outdoor pond. Hannah stopped by every day to feed them.
We went river rafting one day. Really fun......but the river was quite cold!
Hannah fishing. Didn't catch anything.
Jumping off the pier.
Our two day trip to Nashville. Checking out the hotel.
Dinner at the Opry Grill. The wait staff get up on stage and take turns singing.
Back at the hotel
Watching a really cool water and light show.
Country Music Hall of Fame
Fun candy store we found :-)
