American Girl Dance Camp

Hannah had a cute little camp this week that she LOVED.  She and two of her friends from school signed up together and they had a blast.  It was an American Girl Dance Camp.  They learned a little dance and did lots of crafts.  Below are some pictures from their little performance. I included a video of the dance....hope you can view it......I haven't tested it on the blog :-)

Catch Up

The days and week keep passing by so quickly.  I'm in denial that August is just around the corner. BIG birthday month, and it means that the end of summer is nearing. We've been having a blast this summer swimming, playing, crafting, skating, fun camps, bowling.....we are liking the lack of structure and schedule.  It's fun waking up and having the luxury of doing whatever we want.

We've been playing outside after dinner with Mike most nights. The other night we found three different summer games that Santa brought us.....we forgot about them :-) They were in the mudroom bench!  The other night we were playing with the OgoSport. Super fun.  Somehow it turned into Monkey in the Middle.

Hannah mugging for the camera. She's a pistol :-)

Han and Griff's friend came over this afternoon after Han's American Girl Dance camp. We got out the sprinkler and had some summer fun.

I finally got around to redoing Abby's room. I think I promised her last December that I would do it over Christmas break. Then I told her Spring break. Last week I told her I'd get it done before her birthday. We pulled together and got it done over five days.  And only fought a little about colors and accessories :-)  She wanted it bright teal. I toned it down just a little, but it is still plenty bright.  She calls it her Tween Room. I'm in denial about that, too :-)  I intended to paint her bathroom, too.  I didn't. I found out that although I love decorating, I don't particularly love painting walls.  Luckily, I happened to find a rug that combined the new color in her bedroom and existing color in her bath.....whew, no need to repaint!  I still need to make her shower curtain...you can see the fabric  hanging over the curtain rod, but other than that we are done.

Paper Airplane Show Down

We had a bit of a paper airplane contest last night. Griff got a paper airplane book for his birthday last year, and we love it. It has great airplanes in it and they are super cool. They really fly well.  We've kept every one we've made over the last year; we probably have 35 of them. Last night we made some new ones, as well as got out some of the oldies but goodies from last summer. A bit of a contest ensued......not sure who won, but it was lots of fun!

Getting ready to fly.....

Watching Griff's airplane in the air

Hannah, flying one right at me :-)

Abby must have won one of the contests

Pool Time

I took the kids to the pool yesterday, and we had a blast. We didn't even notice the 100 degree heat :-)  All of them mastered the diving boards. Abby and Hannah even braved the high dive. Although after one jump, Hannah said she was sticking to the low dive!  I might have to break down and get a summer pass. I know we live in the state of 10,000 lakes, but I really am a pool girl.  It was so nice to not bring half a beach home at the end of the day.

I managed to snap these pictures with my phone. They are not the best, but they capture the jumping monkeys!

Abby trying the surf ride. She did it once...didn't really love it. It looked pretty scary to me.

Griff doing a cannon ball off the love dive.

Hannah doing the splits off the low dive.

Griff coming off the board and Hannah swimming.

Abby getting ready to do the zip line over the pool.  THIS was fun!  LONG wait in the line though, so she only did it twice.

Hannah doing the pencil off the low dive :-)

Another cannon ball from Griff.

And Abby off the high dive.
