Just Zoo It

We packed up and went to the Como Zoo on Monday. Everyone had a really good time. The weather was perfect, and the kids really seemed to have a good time. It's a great zoo for the kids - it's small enough you can do it all in a couple of hours, the animals are close enough to see, and there is a little amusement park in it. Abby said her favorite animals were the giraffe and the monkeys, but the amusement park by far was the most interesting to her!

On a completely different note, I picked up my chair covers today, and I LOVE them! They are going to save our new kitchen chairs from Abby's sticky little hands!
Enjoy the pictures!

Fancy Nancy, er, Abby

One of Abby's favorite books right now is "Fancy Nancy". It's about a little girl who likes everything to be fancy - fancy hats, fancy dresses, fancy dinner plates, etc. This morning I asked her if I could take her picture to send to everyone. She sat down and gave me the "head to the shoulder" pose. I asked her to just sit naturally, and to put her shoulder down. She said to me that wouldn't be fancy. So here is her fancy pose:

Hannah and Griff are not so into being fancy, so here they are in their finest moments this morning (don't let the bottle Griff is holding fool you. He still refuses a bottle, and only likes to play with Hannah's once she is finished eating).

Got Milk

I've been trying to get Hannah and Griffin to drink milk out of a cup lately. Hannah seems to like it ok. Griff does not. He takes a big gulp, and then lets it dribble out of his mouth, down the front of him and onto the floor. He then shakes the cup like you wouldn't believe, perhaps trying to tell me just how much he doesn't like it. It's not the cup, I know that, because he drinks juice out of it enthusiastically, it's the milk he is protesting (no idea how to flip the pic, sorry!).

Abby's doing well. She is VERY excited about her upcoming birthday, and can't wait to see everyone. She repeatedly asks me how many more days. She also tries to get me to tell her where her presents are hidden. So far she hasn't found them!

We're Back!

Well, I seem to be back in business. Able to post pictures now. No idea why. So, I'll get on the ball and take some more today. I'm not able to post video, so pictures will have to do!

Technical Difficulties

Well, having some trouble posting pictures, likely because I don't really know what I'm doing! I'm working on it, and hopefully I'll have some posted soon!

Lucky Kona

One of Abby's jobs around the house is to feed Kona. She knows he gets a cup and a half of food in the morning and at night, and she is very good and scooping out just the right amount. As I was making dinner, Mike was answering the phone, and H&G were throwing blocks at each other, Abby went into the mud room to feed Kona. She comes back out singing "lucky Kona, lucky Kona, lucky Kona", over and over again. She said it probably ten times before it registered with me that I should probably ask WHY she is singing "lucky Kona" over and over. She smiled at me and said matter-a-factly, "I gave him THREE scoops today, mama". As I am stumbling over H&G to get to Kona's bowl, I'm yelling to Mike to hang up and get Kona. Thankfully, Mike heard Abby's explanation and picked up his bowl in the nick of time.

Yes, Kona was almost a lucky dog!

Ah, Sleep

I've forgotten how good it feels to get 7 continuous hours of sleep! Hannah has decided that she no longer needs to eat in the middle of the night. Thank you, Hannah! We still have the occasional "shout out" in the wee hours, needing help finding a paci, or in Abby's case, chasing away bad dreams, but our night-time hours are looking better! Last night NO ONE woke up between the hours of 11pm and 6am, unbelievable. First time in 11 months, no kidding. We love sleep.

First Time Bloggers

Hello! We've finally done it. Entered into blogging. I don't even really know what it is, but I figure it will be a good way to keep in touch with everyone and share photos. We'll see how it goes!

Today we packed up and went to the beach, only to find that it was a bit breezy. Abby and Mike enjoyed playing in the water, but I hung back with Hannah and Griff on the sand. That is, until, Hannah decided playing in the water looked like much more fun. She sat, splashed in the water, and ate sand, all with a smile on her face. She is our little water baby. She didn't even cry when she fell over backward in the water, with her little hands and feet in the air. Rolled over and got right back to splashing. Griff spent the entire time hanging onto our wagon, trying desparetely to reach Abby's Cheetos. Abby had enough after about an hour so we headed back home. It took us longer to get everyone ready, pack the truck, and drive there, but what can you do?

I forgot the camera for some beach pictures, but here is one from the other day. Will write more later!
