KidStage

Abby was in an after-school theater class for the last few weeks.  Their last session was on Monday, and they gave a little performance for the parents/siblings/friends. Each kid had lines they needed to memorize, and Mike and I had practiced with Abby numerous times - yes, we truly knew her lines AND everyone else's lines after reading through the play 4,598 times!

She did great, knew all her lines, and was actually one of the few who spoke loud enough for everyone to hear. We were proud of her.    Below is a picture of all the kids in KidSpeak after their performance.

Abby is beginning spring break this Friday for TWO WEEKS (what????). We are hoping the weather is nice so we can find some fun things to do to occupy the days.  I'm sure there will be some picture taking!

Playing in the "Woods"

H*G went for a bike ride yesterday. It was super nice and they wanted to go down the trail so off we went.  Below are some pictures of them playing the "woods" and the water.  They had a great time....and who wouldn't, throwing sticks and stones into the stream and getting full of mud!  Hannah insisted on wearing one of her brand new pair of shoes instead of her boots, and you'll see what happened to them down below.....thankfully they cleaned up nicely :-)

Swim Lessons, outside fun, and basement....

Abby started swim lessons on Sunday. To say she was excited is an understatement.  She was thrilled to be back in the water. She and the other little girl in her class (supposed to be 2 other but they didn't show) were giggling and laughing the entire time.

We also hit about 63 degrees on Sunday, so H*G were out all afternoon with Mike doing who knows what.  We were blowing bubbles together before I took Abby to swimming, and when we got back 3 hours later (did a bit of grocery shopping, too!) they were still outside.  Griff was so exhausted he fell asleep as I was reading books to him and Hannah at bedtime....lights out at 7pm for him!

Basement is coming along. Lots of walls going up....here are a couple of H*G trying out the toilet :-)

More Bubbles

bubbles in the rain.....and don't mind the giant blue dumpster in the driveway....the contractors are starting on the basement....yipee!

Ice Show Success!

Abby's two ice skating performances went great this weekend.  She was a bit nervous Saturday night, but by her Sunday afternoon performance she was perfectly calm. As soon as she was finished Sunday she said she can't wait to do it again next year.  Below are a couple of her practicing on the ice before going out Sunday afternoon.

Grandma and Grandpa Newman were able to come up for her show, and she was so excited they were here. Everyone had a great weekend playing with G&G.  G&G were even the first people to see our new couch and chair.....they were delivered over the weekend.  Good thing, too, because we were without anywhere to sit for a few days!

Ice Show Dress Rehearsal

Abby had her dress rehearsal for her ice show Friday night. I tried to get some pictures, but it was really dark.  She is looking forward to the real show on Saturday night.  Enjoy these pics and I'll post some more tomorrow.

You Know the Weather is Getting Warmer....

when the Newmans are outside blowing bubbles! out playing the slush this afternoon when Griff found some old bubbles.  they were a little thick from being outside all winter, but worked!  Miss Hannah had trouble blowing the bubbles and was getting very frustrated...you can see she took her bubble bucket and took a walk by herself to recompose herself :-)
