Sports Updates

We've had a busy week, shuffling from here to there for various activities. I am going to have to ask some moms with older kids how they manage to get dinner on the table with all these after school activities. I'm not sure we can last on a diet of Subway and Pizza Hut.

Anyway, below are some pictures from Abby's karate class and everyone's ice skating lessons. Abby loves karate and ice skating, and is doing great in both.  Her friend Julia takes karate with her. We didn't know she was in the class until we showed up and she was there. That was nice for Abby, made her feel comfortable right off the bat.

H&G are doing ice skating. Griff is doing pretty well. Skating across the rink and getting up by himself when he falls. Hannah thinks it's pure torture to be out there. She rarely looks at us during class and when she does she gives us the evil eye :-)  She's actually good at it and would like it if she would give it a chance....but she is too busy trying to prove a point to Mike and me. She'll be fun when she's 13 :-)

Enjoy the pictures!

1st of Preschool

We are off to preschool in about 10 minutes.  H&G go from 12:30 to 3pm.  It's a rainy, stormy day and they don't much like the thunder. Hopefully it stops soon otherwise it could get interesting at school!

Let's hope they love it and have a fun day!

The Park....and Karate

I've been promising and promising Hannah and Griff a trip to the park the last few days. Today I finally lived up to my promise and we headed over there after we cleaned the garage. Serious cleaning. 3 hours of cleaning. 3 huge contractor garbage bags full of trash. Big pile, HUGE, of crap to donate.  You can actually see the floor now, and get to the garbage cans without tripping over a bike, or a scooter, or a golf club, roller skates, basketball, you get the idea. AND Hannah and Griff swept the entire floor so I figured I owed them some fun at the park.  Abby also started karate today. She loved it. We bought the uniform so she's in for the year :-)

H&G start preschool tomorrow. Say a little prayer for them. They say they are excited. I foresee tears and lots of 'em.

Yep, I let her run around bare foot :-)

Notice the static in the new few shots. They thought their hair was hilarious. (yes, Griff needs a haircut....we're getting to it!)

Hannah climbed this rope wall three times all by herself. By the third time you could tell how hard it was for her to pull herself up and over the wall.  Griff took one look at the wall and said "no way"  :-)

Hannah and Griff were supposed to join Abby in class. Griff bowed out earlier in the day. Hannah was dressed and ready to go but decided she didn't want to try it once we got there. I'm hoping I can change her mind by next class. I think Hanny would love it.

1st Day of School

It was chilly, but Abby couldn't wait to get to school this morning.  She was thrilled to be back with all her friends. I can't wait to hear all about her day when I go to pick her up later this afternoon.

2nd grade......wow.

The All American Past-Time

We headed to the new Target Field for the Twins game today.  We actually made it through 6 innings. Then the whining started to get to Mike and me so we headed home. BUT, everyone had a great time while we were there. Griff loved watching the batting practice. I think Hannah and Abby loved the cotten candy the best :-)  It did rain a bit, but we had great seats under an awning, so we stayed nice and dry.

First day of school tomorrow! Come back for the traditional photo!

Griff would not take his eyes off the field for the picture, the little bugger....

The Apple Orchard

Our favorite apple orchard opened this weekend, so we decided to take a drive with the kids and welcome in fall.....kinda.  Still not ready for summer to be over, but given it's only been in the 60s the last few days, I think it's safe to say summer is over and fall is moving in!

Anyway, we all had a great time at the orchard.  It wasn't very busy, so we got to do all the fun stuff: sit on the tractors, climb the hay hill, go through the corn maze, play on the train and swing set, take a hay ride, pet the pony and goats, and of course have some yummy apple donuts and fresh apple cider.  We walked away with a peck of apples. Don't have any idea what that means, other than it's a really big bag. I promised Griff an apple pie, so I think I'll be doing that sometime in the next couple of days.  Then we'll have plenty left over for some other goodies.

Enjoy the pictures. Tomorrow we are off to the Twins game, provided it doesn't rain.  Think they'll let us in if we are all wearing our Sox hats? Humm...
